Film Registration at The Jakarta Film Week Extended Until 7 October 2021

Jakarta, 30 September 2021 – The Jakarta Film Week is still open for submissions. If previously the deadline for registration ended on 30 September, we as the organizers have extended the registration period until 7 October 2021.

The Jakarta Film Week is still accepting film works, which are divided into two categories: the short film category with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and the feature film category with a duration of over 45 minutes. Anyone may participate in registering film works in accordance with applicable regulations, both domestic films and international films.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Film Week does not limit the types of genres of films to be registered. “As for genre, we accept all types of genres and are not limited to one particular genre. The point is how the films are produced, what they voice, and the things intended to be conveyed through the films, “said Damar Ardi, as the programmer for the Jakarta Film Week.

Later, all registered films will go through a curation process and the selected films will have the opportunity to participate in the competition. There are three categories of competition: the best international feature film award, the best international short film award, and the best Indonesian feature film award.

In addition, films that have been registered and have gone through the curation process will be screened during the festival, on 18-21 November 2021, both offline and online. We hope that the Jakarta Film Week can reignite the passion for filmmaking.
Despite the limitations due to the pandemic, the Jakarta Film Week tries to facilitate the meeting of the film works with the audience. “It is hoped that the festival can trigger the enthusiasm for filmmaking now that there is already a place for you to lend your work to be screened and reach a wider audience,” said Novi Hanabi, program manager for the Jakarta Film Week.
Filmmakers who want to submit their film works can directly register through our official website at www.jakartafilmweek.com. Registration will continue until 7 October 2021.

In the previous program, namely the Jakarta Film Fund, 5 best proposals were selected. The five winners are currently in training for movielab directing, scriptwriting and image editing accompanied by experienced mentors in their fields. The five winners also received production assistance funds of IDR 30 million each.
